We are not professionals….Just our thoughts and observations on local area rinks.
We got this idea after visiting one rink….another parent told us they had an awesome arcade there….so we dragged our not ice loving sibling to said rink…..Once we got there we realized the Arcade was simply 2 video games in the corner…..and one was broken! Lots of disappointed looks in my direction the rest of the day……
So we started taking notes on the various rinks we visited over the years and decided to share. Not just notes like who plays there, or where does the GPS take you to…but important things like….who has the best pizza, is there an arcade (with unbroken games), does the snack bar take debit cards, Wifi? is there an ATM there, can you tailgate in the parking lot, is there a bar in the rink (or a bar nearby), etc.
Sure, Google can tell you a lot! And most rinks have a presence on that interwebs thing now…but who can really tell you how if they have WiFi or if the bathrooms are heated!? Why, those that have spent time there before! And by “time” i mean countless hours!
